Able to cruise safely in local and regional waters as
both skipper and crew on an auxiliary sailing yacht of
20-30 feet length in moderate winds and sea conditions.
Docking, reefing, and safety requirements. |
- Identification and function of various parts of
a sailboat
- Sailing terminology and usage
- Coast Guard “Rules of the Road” for
collision avoidance and safety
- All points of sail, including tacking and jibing
- Departing and returning to a dock
- Safety knowledge, including man overboard rescue
- Knots and lines (marlinespike seamanship)
